1. Indochina architectural works

History enthusiasts will enjoy all the colonial buildings with pale yellow facades, including the Gustav Eiffel-designed City Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral, built entirely with materials imported from France. Many of these buildings are located in the heart of District 1, around Dong Khoi and Le Loi streets.

2. Thu Thien Tunnel in District 2 (Saigon River Tunnel)

The most ideal place for a full view of Ho Chi Minh City at night is the park in District 2 at the end of Thu Thiem Tunnel. It is perfect for families to enjoy the fresh air and street food or BBQ while admiring the shimmering Saigon at night!

3. Nguyen Hue pedestrian street (District 1)

Since being converted into a pedestrian street in 2015, Nguyen Hue pedestrian street located right in the city center is where locals gather during the day. Walk along trendy boutiques and cafes (42 Nguyen Hue) with great views of the entire street below. You can experience everything here from dining to entertainment, including street performers and kids skateboarding. Especially on holidays and special occasions, Nguyen Hue pedestrian street is decorated splendidly!

4. Chinatown

Chinatown or “Cho Lon” in District 5 is home to colorful temples and pagodas. Take a stroll along the busy streets and admire antique shops such as traditional medicine shops. When coming here, don’t forget to enjoy dishes like dim sum or a bowl of hot noodles!

5. Starlight Crescent Bridge and Phu My Hung Urban Area

Located in District 7 just south of the city center, Starlight Bridge over the Crescent Lake (pedestrian only) is a great spot to take pictures, especially at night when the lights are on. The area around Phu My Hung has many spacious gardens, tree-lined streets and modern Western villas that make it a fun place for jogging and cycling.
